The Doctor's Office is at the corner of East and Front streets, across the street from the ferry dock and adjacent to the ferry lanes.

Description:
As your ferry noses into the Friday Harbor dock, notice the handsomely painted Victorian house sitting directly across the street. The Doctor’s Office, serving ice cream, espresso, juices, baked goods, and lunch, is located on the ground floor of this historical building.

The Doctor’s Office dishes up Friday Harbor’s only homemade ice cream, concocted from premium ingredients in an elaborate three-day process. Choose from Dutch malt, coffee, mint chip, and local berry flavors, as well as basic chocolate and vanilla. Homemade sherbet and non-fat, dairy free ices are also offered. As you would expect, this ice cream is on the expensive side, but worth it. (Cup or fresh-made waffle cone?)

Another popular item at The Doctor’s Office is their selection of espresso drinks made with dairy, soy, or rice milk. Their fresh baked scones, sticky buns, muffins, cinnamon bread, biscotti, and croissants are a natural go-with. If you’re looking for a nutritious, caffeine-free beverage, try the fresh squeezed fruit and/or vegetable juice combinations available all day.

Lunch is served from 11am. The sandwich menu, while not extensive, manages to include something for everyone: from Roast Beef and Swiss served on homemade bread with green peppercorn aioli, to the very popular Roasted Vegetable Panini with asiago and boursin cheeses on grilled ciabata bread. Half sandwiches are available. Salads and two different homemade soups-of-the-day are also on the menu.

The Doctor’s Office is an easy place for children. With comfortable but well-worn furnishings and floor, everyone can relax. A high chair, games, and kids’ books are stashed in the entry. Treat your little one to a Kid-a-Chino: steamed milk served with chocolate sprinkles. At the rear of the building you’ll find a take-out window and a small deck which is wheelchair accessible.
