Description:
Whether you’re looking for a romantic honeymoon suite or a pleasant getaway from the workweek routine, Hillside House has the room for you. Surrounded by a forest of pine and fir, this three-story contemporary home offers six well-appointed rooms, all featuring harbor and mountain or garden views.

If it’s romance that you and that special someone are after you’d be hard-pressed to do better than the Eagle’s Nest Retreat. Wake up to views of stunning Mount Baker rising high above Friday Harbor in this room that features a king-size bed, fireplace, a private balcony, wet bar and a two-person Jacuzzi. This is truly the Hillsides’ crème de le crème.

A step below is the Captain’s Quarters which offers a bevy of amenities including a harbor view window seat. Other rooms boast a range of features and allow guests to bask in the serenity afforded the wonderfully landscaped atrium that’s stocked with hanging baskets, trees, fountains and a pond.

A large, comfy living room complete with fireplace invites guests to relax and get to know each other while the 10,000-square-foot deck encourages them to enjoy the views and island air. Coffee, tea and cookies are available to guests throughout the day as well.

The breakfast half of Hillside’s B&B is a winner also. An egg-based casserole, coffee cake, biscuits, and fresh fruit are some of the tasty ways that guests get to start the day. Truly a versatile B&B, the Hillside House promises a relaxed San Juan Island experience.

Comments
The owners have worked hard to 'charm' the house up. However, no amount of work can disguise the fact that the house is a split level with dark, cramped rooms. The home is just far enough from downtown to be inconvenient (though not far enough to be secluded) yet they still charge in-town rates!
