Description:
Friday’s Historical Inn, built in 1891, is a charming boutique hotel conveniently located in downtown Friday Harbor. The waterfront, ferry landing, shops, restaurants, and nightlife are all within an easy stroll.(Visitors no longer navigate the occasional dozing doggy on main street. Over the years, Friday Harbor has become a lively little town, particularly in summer. If you desire absolute peace and quiet, book a room outside of town.)

Of Friday’s 15 delightful guest rooms, eleven have private baths while four others share two large bathrooms. Many private baths are equipped with Jacuzzi soaking tubs large enough for two people, double head showers, and radiant heat floor tiles, a delight for bare feet. Fireplaces, kitchenettes, and private decks or balconies are other options. Stained glass windows, down comforters, antique accents, and Pacific Northwest art make every guest room special. There is no such thing as a "standard room" at Friday’s.

If you need handicapped facilities, request the Courtyard. As its name suggests, this deluxe little suite is ground level and not only has a private entrance, kitchenette, and fireplace, but its own outside hot tub. The Courtyard suite sleeps three with a king-sized bed in a separate room, and a single fold out. The large, tiled wheelchair accessable shower is equipped with a fold down bench, hand-held shower head, and grab bars.

The Eagle Cove, perched on the third floor of the inn, is a cozy hideaway complete with king-sized bed, kitchenette, two person Jacuzzi tub, and a beautiful harbor view. Sip your favorite morning brew on the private balcony and watch the sun rise over the water.

New owners Adam and Laura Saccio extend the type of gracious hospitality one would expect at a traditional B&B. Help yourself to sodas, fruit, and popcorn in the parlor; fresh baked cookies appear in the afternoon. Board games, puzzles, and books are found in a niche beside the staircase. Videos for in-room viewing are available for the asking. Complimentary continental breakfast is served buffet-style each morning: fresh baked scones, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, and Cafe San Juan Coffee.

Although there are no phones in the guest rooms, you are welcome to make free local calls from the privacy of an antique phone booth in the parlor. By request, your hosts can lend you a cordless phone to use in your room. Laptop plug-ins are also available in some rooms. (If you’ve never dared unplug for an entire getaway, try it. It’s a delicious freedom.)

To experience a bit of Friday Harbor past - with luxurious amenities - Friday’s Historical Inn is an excellent choice.
