From the Orcas Island Ferry Landing, the hotel is straight ahead just a few feet up the hill.

Description:
The Orcas Hotel, a National Historic Landmark, works well as both a destination spot and a jumping off point for adventures around the island. Built in 1904, the Victorian Inn is hard to miss when you approach the island by ferry. Because it’s located only a few feet up the hill from the ferry landing, it is an excellent place to start your vacation, especially if getting a late start. Hotel guests can pass lazy afternoons watching the ferries come and go, walking through the garden, or exploring the nearby beach.

The hotel has the intimate feel of a Bed and Breakfast but offers much more privacy. The Victorian style rooms are romantic and feature dark wood antique furnishings, nice soaps, and big fluffy towels. Of the 12 rooms, two have a private Jacuzzi tub, stained glass windows and private veranda. The other rooms have access to a shared shower and bathroom, but there are more than one bathroom to choose from. Guests also have access to a common sitting parlor on the main floor, with couches, a piano and a fireplace. Like many romantic hotels, this one regularly hosts weddings. A flyer in the hallway advertises package wedding deals that include space for rehearsal dinners, a wedding in the garden, reception and brunch. The entire hotel can be rented at once.

A café within the hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. As part of their room rate, hotel guests are provided with coffee, pastry, and juice in the morning from the café, or the option of half-off a breakfast entrée. The restaurant is open for breakfast at 6 a.m. and stays open until 6:30 p.m. Salads, sandwiches and soup are on the lunch and dinner menu. The hotel is a cozy place to spend some time or makes a terrific home base from which to explore the rest of the island.
