From the ferry terminal follow the Horseshoe Highway through to Eastsound, Moran State and Olga. At the bottom of the hill by the Olga Cafe/Artworks turn left and drive about a quarter-mile past Buck Bay. Turn right at the Y in the road toward Obstruction Pass. After the power substation continue past three wide curves in the road until you see a road sign for Willis Lane. Turn left onto the gravel road and left again at the first driveway on the left. This drive takes you to the main house and office. It is a large gray house with red front doors.

Description:
A group of cozy, secluded cottages overlooking Rosario Strait, Bayside Cottages will guarantee a return visit for the peace of mind and relaxation they offer. Visitors to this unique Bed and Breakfast enjoy the privacy offered by the positioning of each unit with no line of sight to another structure. Each building is invisible, nestled amongst young fir trees on a cliff. The only sound to be heard is that of the gentle crash of waves on the nearby beach.

Two of the units--Lummi and Cypress--are 600 square-foot buildings that epitomize the word "cozy". A wood stove, hardwood floors, comfortable furniture and full kitchen complement the spacious one-room layout, with a European-style box bed in one corner. Large bay windows and a front porch face eastward to Lummi and Cypress Islands, respectively. A wood bench and lounge chairs with brass fittings encourage a brief rest to enjoy the Sound view. On a clear day, the Lummi cottage offers a view of majestic Mount Baker from bed. If the silence doesn’t deafen you, you might be able to hear the sounds of birds chirping or perhaps the wind. Or maybe a creaking pine.

Another popular unit is the Beachhouse, a much larger structure appropriately located nearer this B&B’s 280 feet of waterfront property on Buoy Bay. The two bedrooms, foldout futon and 2,000 square feet of floor space can accommodate up to six people quite comfortably. It’s not difficult to envision a family retreat or couples weekend here. The interior is indeed beautiful, with hardwood floors and ceilings as well as a covered sun porch.

If you’re seeking privacy and comfort, Bayside Cottages will make a believer out of you. A popular destination, reservations are recommended well in advance and usually require a two- or three-night minimum stay.
