Bucky's is on the main drag going through Lopez Village. The restaurant is on the left side of a small strip mall right across from the grocery store.

Description:
If your experience with restaurants that have the word "grill" in their name conjures up a smoky atmosphere and greasy food, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by Bucky’s. You won’t find televisions with non-stop extreme sports or beer signs here; this is a grill with class. The décor leans more towards wood chairs, flower print table coverings and various historic touches. The interior is light, bright and comfortable with plenty of seating.

In the summer season, enjoy a peaceful view from the sundeck facing out on the fields leading to Fisherman’s Bay. The surroundings are surprisingly tranquil, especially for being in the heart of Lopez Island’s only town, Lopez Village. Even on the sundeck, the only sounds are the distant passing of a floatplane or boat. A family friendly place, Bucky’s is popular with tourists looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, or just a place to relax. The service is casual and friendly, typical of Lopez. Perhaps the best way to describe it would be "comfortably personal". A word of advice--if you try to use your cell phone, you’ll be risking the wrath of the locals.

As the name would suggest, the main fare of the grill is burgers, both chicken and beef. The grill certainly lives up to its name with its offerings of fish and chips and other fried food but there is also a considerable selection of seafood and soups. Health minded patrons in search of lighter fare can opt for the ubiquitous pasta dishes and salads. I’d personally recommend the fish and chips. The cod is light, flaky and tender with a tasty beer batter.

I've been eating the Fish tacos for 15 years now and I have yet to find anything better. My family and I live in Texas now and we still talk about them. My son always ask for me to re-create them and I just can't do them like Buckys! :-)

Amazing clam chowder. Grilled salmon tastes like they have fishing poles in the water out back. Cajun burger was tasty. I dream of going back for the chowder and salmon...some day...mmmmm...chowder...salmon....

I was amazed at the selection of tasty dishes offered as specials there. Grilled Salmon, a beautiful 10oz New York Steak, Texas Style Honeyroasted Pork Ribs and of course the mixed seafood marinara. A fine and friendly staff, quick service an affordable wine menu made my visit a pleasure.
