Description:
This County Park offers a wide variety of day and overnight uses. The park's waterfront location, popularity, and proximity to the ferry landing make it a first stop for campers entering the island so camping spots fill up fast during the summer. There are 30 campsites total, with 9 beach sites. Limited sites accommodate recreational vehicles up to either 22' or 30' max. (no hook-ups); five sites are exclusively for hikers, bikers, and kayakers. Other spots are in the wooded area of the park and offer more shelter.

Camping reservations are recommended. Reservations may be made between 5 and 90 days in advance of stay. The reservation phone line, 360-378-1842, operates between March and September, with varied days and hours of service. For general information, call 360-378-8420.

Day-use facilities include plenty of picnic tables spread out along the beachfront. Picnickers are treated to a view of each ferry as it passes by the park, as well as the comings and goings at the park's boat ramp. The launch is for small craft only, with parking for trailers in the designated lot. Mooring buoy registration is available at the park office for $8.00 per day. Launching from this site may be difficult at low tide, so plan accordingly. A small dock is available for use, with a 24-hour mooring limit. Campfires are allowed (except during state or county burn bans) and firewood is sold at the manager's office.

Foot paths (dubbed "nature trails" by the park management) lead in and out of the park, mainly short loops that lead back on themselves. Rabbit and deer are well accustomed to the presence of campers. These and mink, otters, seals, and eagles are a common sight around the park. The park also contains a baseball field and common areas for group gatherings and event (by arrangement with the Park Superintendent in Friday Harbor).
