Description:
Edenwild Inn is the kind of place that combines old-fashioned style with the comfort of contemporary styling. Built in 1988, the Inn still feels new and untouched. The owners take great pains to keep it immaculate and great care with even the smallest details. Big bottles of sherry--along with Belgian chocolates and coffee--await guests in each of the inn’s eight spacious rooms. The bathrooms boast ceramic tile floors and other thoughtful touches, such as little glycerin soaps and packets of toiletries at the sink.

Outside, the wraparound deck is perfect for lounging and watching sunsets. Located right in Lopez Village, Edenwild is close to shops and the water. You can walk down the street to a restaurant for dinner or rent kayaks for the day. The Inn is popular with bicyclists touring Lopez Island and has won awards from bicycle associations for its outstanding accommodations. The Edenwild also offers a separate guest cabin, a honeymoon suite, and a special family room. Children of all ages are welcome.

A country breakfast is provided, "country" meaning lots of food. The journal in the hallway is full of guest raves about the Inn's breakfasts. The owners, consistent with their attention to detail, set the tables with fine china.

It seems people from all walks of life feel at home at Edenwild. While I was there, I saw a man in a suit relaxing with a newspaper on the veranda while out front bicyclists chatted and joked while planning their next excursion. All were enjoying a little bit of heaven.
