Located on San Juan Island, Friday Harbor is the largest town in the San Juan Islands. This bustling island seaport is also the only island town that's also a stop on the Washington State Ferry system. Visitors to Friday Harbor will be charmed by eclectic offerings which include a performing arts center, whale museum, many historic inns, not to mention its numerous quality restaurants and shops.

Like the island on which its located, much of Friday Harbor focuses on the 90-plus orca whales which call the waters west of the island home. In summers, whale watching tours and flights leave from the harbor, located right next to the ferry landing. Friday Harbor becomes a bustling little burg in summers, which is why you should also consider a winter visit. You'll have the island--and all the peace and quiet you can handle--to yourself.
